Begin with veterans who have already successfully transitioned to civilian life. Learn about them and inquire about their transition experience.
In relation to the previous point, it’s also critical to assess yourself and determine any gaps in your professional network and skill set. When it comes to networking, you should look for someone who can put you in touch with a hiring manager.
The next stage is to assess your employability. Meet with as many recruiters and hiring managers as possible to receive as much input as possible. It’s a good idea to base your career path on feedback and utilize it as a catalyst for lifelong learning. After all, feedback is the breakfast of champions.
